CONNECTIVE TRAINING AS DESCRIBED BY A CUSTOMER WHO TRIED THEM ALL....
"I must say that I was very wary of dog trainers. I've been burned. A ton of them out there acting as if they know what they are doing. Their main fault is that they forget that there is a caring and hopeful human at the other end of the leash. Only wanting the best for their dog.
After being burned, it took a lot for me to seek out another trainer and to trust them. My girl Chili is a Rotti/Boxer cross. We got her when she was 6 months old from the SPCA. She was a stray so came with all the hangups. No training, and fear aggression. Chili is a wonderful and loving girl but is just as headstrong and no where near being an easy dog. She challenges me every day. In another household, I think she might have been returned.
But in ours, we stick to our commitments. We've worked very hard with her and she's come a long way but there were still issues that needed to be resolved.
I phoned Michele because I was at the end of my rope with these issues and she seemed different from the rest, and I was right. She's a very down to earth and understanding individual who truly cares about the well being of the dog and the owner.
In our personal consultation she was so natural and really connected with both me and Chili. She stepped outside of the the regular "trainer" persona and adapted to the challenges that were in front of her. I loved that she didn't pretend to be so above us in her knowledge. It was simple. Watch us and adapt.
I never felt like a dollar sign to her, she really does want to help. Along with personal sessions, Chili and I have attended her Adult Obedience class. Although Chili knew most of the commands already, I valued every class. Working with your dog in a structured class can help so much in building trust and teamwork. It's not just about the commands, it's about the relationship that can be strengthened through working together towards a goal. When you have a dog like Chili, that's important. And the insight that you receive from watching other dogs and their owners is invaluable. The great things they've achieved, the milestones they still need to overcome, and the rewards of their successes. It's so motivating and inspiring.
In the classes we were lucky to have both Michele and Jenni as our trainers. They are both amazing and what a great opportunity to learn from both of their accumulated knowledge.
I believe there's no quick fix when you're dealing with a thinking and feeling animal, but if you are looking for a team that will endure and stand by you, then CONNECTIVE TRAINING ™
is where you need to be. A team with heart that will give you honesty, even when it hurts, and loyalty to the end. I can't wait to sign up for another class and experience the connection again. "
